Hey, I am Mary Anne.

I love to look at each day as a mission opportunity whether it is an international trip or a day walking down the halls of my elementary school.  God gives us these divine appointments to be able to teach people about Jesus!

I figured my adult life would be living in an African hut telling people about Jesus. But, I love how God’s plan for me allows me to use that passion in my daily job and in my community!  His ways are always the best ways!

I have met many different people in many different nations around the world. I love how we are all uniquely made in His image. This is just part of my “missionary zeal”.

A few more thoughts…. love the beach, adore my family (including those friends that might as well be part of my bloodline), reading  a good book is peaceful, animals calm me, each day should start with strong coffee, there isn’t a city on the map that I don’t want to visit, best time of the year is football season (go tigers!), laughing makes me feel good, and my church is like home.

I hope you enjoy reading and I look forward to hearing about your mission!

  1. I am so proud of you. You’re doing what makes you happiest. God has given you this talent and you have never been afraid to step up and use it for His Glory. I can’t wait to hear about all the lives you touch. I have had the privilege of seeing you reach out to others and I know it is all from God. Know I love and pray for you. Harriett

  4. I am so excited to be reading your blog. Mary Anne, you really do have a gift for writing and I know God is smiling all over you. I will be anxious to see if you can blog from Ukraine. If not, I will be waiting to hear all about your trip once you get home. God bless you and Suzanne on this trip and bless the children you will minister to while you are there.

  5. Mary Anne,
I wanted to take some time to respond to some of your emails and since I am at home recuperating I thought this was a was a time to help me get my thoughts together. I want to start my thanking you, your mom and of course “The Colonel” for sharing this journey with all of us at DHEC and other places. I am sure others have remarked and have sent many of the same sentiments. Through your chronicles I have been able to share the “good ” and the “bad”, the smiles and the tears, but most of all have shared and felt your love of family and I would like to thank you for that. I often feel like I am sitting in the room with you and I hope that your whole family can feel a “hand on your shoulder” or a gentle hug when you need it or a smile just because that is what you have given us…..I am not the writer that you are but I just wanted you to know my thoughts. Your faith and strength in God will continue to guide you through this journey. Please give you dad a gentle squeeze from me. Please continue to keep us updated and thank you once again.

Thinking of you and keeping you all in my prayers,

    Tammy McKenna
